Is Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump ahead? Here’s everything we know so far.

We’re currently about, ehhhh, roughly 33% of the way through Election night 2016. On the East Coast, the polls are either closed or in the process of closing, and that trend is starting to make its way West across the United States. If you’re watching the news (or Twitter) right now, you’re probably hearing a lot of “THIS IS SO CLOSE.” And it’s true. But just *who* exactly is ahead during the Presidential Election 2016?

As of 7 p.m. PST, it is Republican candidate, Donald Trump. He currently has 136 Electoral College votes (of the 270 needed to secure the Presidency), and has snagged states like Texas, Tennessee, Arkansa, West Virginia, and Alabama.

Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, is trailing him, but not by much. She currently has 104 Electoral College votes, and has claimed states like Massachusetts, New York, Illinois, and the District of Columbia.

Currently, there are 26 states who have turned in results from their votes for the day, so yes, we’re just about halfway there right now. There are still lots of states left though, and lots of SWING STATES! You know, the states that could sway an election either way. While the nation knows that California will go to Clinton (it always votes Democratic), there are still states like Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, and North Carolina that still need to be counted.

So stay tuned. It’s going to be a long, and interesting, Election Night.
