A few of Hillary Clinton’s most lady-power quotes from last night’s debate

There’s no doubt that Hillary killed it at the Democratic debate last night. Many political pundits have proclaimed her the “winner” of this first party showdown. In case you missed it, or if you saw it and just want to relive all the lady-power shooting from Clinton’s podium, here are a few of our fave Hill quotes from the night.

On being the first woman President:

“Finally fathers will be able to say to their daughters: ‘You, too, can grow up to be president.’”

On why she would be a different kind of president:
“Being the first woman president would be quite a change from the presidents we’ve had, including President Obama.”

On why she’s running (and why she should win):

“I’m running because I have a lifetime of experience in getting results and fighting for people, fighting for kids, for women, for families, fighting to even the odds, and I know what it takes to get things done.”

On changing the American policy concerning time off for families:

“It’s about time we had paid family leave for American families and join the rest of the world.”

On on the enemies she’s proud to have made:

“Well, in addition to the NRA, the health insurance companies, the drug companies, the Iranians … Probably the Republicans.”

On standing her ground and holding her own:

“I don’t take a back seat to anyone when it comes to progressive experience and progressive commitment.”

On getting sh*t done:

“I’m a progressive. But I’m a progressive who likes to get things done,”

Well done, Secretary Clinton. We look forward to more of your words and wisdom from the campaign trail.
