This little girl asked Hillary Clinton the most important question ever

We’re inching our way closer to the 2016 elections, and presidential candidates are on the campaign trail, hard at work to get the support of their fellow Americans. This past Tuesday, during a town hall meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, held by Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, one little girl asked a very important question that simultaneously charmed everyone while making us nod our heads fervently in approval.

When Hillary held the microphone up to the girl, she asked her a hypothetical question: If elected, would she make as much money as a man in the same position? UM, SO CUTE. But also really amazing, because it means that even kids are becoming more aware of the pay discrepancy among genders. According to the Pew Research Center, women who work part- and full-time jobs make 84% of what men do, and this little girl is WELL aware of it.

After Hillary grinned in appreciation of this question for about 30 seconds, she joked, “This is one of the jobs where they HAVE to pay you the same.” She continued, “But there are so many examples where that doesn’t happen. Where women doing the same job are not paid the same.”

“As president, I’m going to do everything I can to make sure not just the president gets paid the same, whether it’s a woman or a man, but every woman in every job gets paid the same as the men who are doing that job.”

This probably seems like it would be a given, but Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump isn’t skeptical of legislating equal pay. “I want women to be paid,” he told the Hollywood Reporter this month. “But you know when you start tinkering with the free market and you start having mandates put down, it’s a very dangerous subject because we’re competing against the world.”

Well, one thing’s for sure: If Trump is elected, he’ll have this little girl to answer to. Watch the whole video below and be prepared to have your socks charmed right off.
