Hilary Duff just shared an intimate video of her daughter’s water birth, and get ready to melt
On October 25th, 2018, actress Hilary Duff welcomed a new baby girl with her partner, Matthew Koma. They named their daughter Banks Violet Bair, and Duff has since posted a number of adorable baby photos to her Instagram account. And today, March 25th, Duff posted the most candid thing yet: a video of her holding Banks Violet in a tub, literally moments after her water birth. (For those who don’t know, a water birth is when an expectant mother lies in a tub of water during delivery, the theory being that it’s a less jarring and stressful experience for the baby as they emerge from their mother’s amniotic sac.)
In the black-and-white video, Duff can be see sitting in the tub hugging Banks Violet to her chest. The baby appears to reach out to her mama as several others in the room gasp in excitement. Duff included a lengthy caption with her post, writing,
"I’ve been wondering for a long time if I would ever share this video as it is extremely personal.... it was so absolutely lovely and rewarding(and shocking) that after giving birth to my baby girl we hugged ...for the first time."
This looks like it was an absolutely magical moment, and we’re so glad Duff decided to share this with her fans. Happy five months, Banks Violet!
