Oh, Hilary Duff we’ve been ready for your musical comeback and it’s finally here
Its been 12 long years since Hilary Duff released “Come Clean,” which instantly became one of our go-to anthems. So yeah, we’ve definitely been living in a world with a substantial Hilary void. She released “Chasing the Sun” last year, which was great—but I still have a soft spot in my heart for “Why Not” off of the Lizzie McGuire soundtrack.
Well now, if you’re one of the many out there who have been patiently waiting for Hilary to make a huge comeback, this is it: she’s go a brand new song, “Sparks.” For the song, she collaborated with Tove Lo, whose hit “Habits” is happily stuck in my head. Can we put this new Hilary song in the running for Song of the Summer, or is it still too early to do that?
The minute long “Sparks” snippet is also the promo music for her upcoming TVLand series, Younger‚ in which Hil plays a hard-working lady in the publishing world. Now we’re totally pumped for the show and her upcoming album. She’s hinted that she’s almost done with it, and that means it’ll hopefully be coming our way soon. Hilary described the album to Time as an eclectic mix of genres. “[It’s] a little bit of electro-pop, a lot of it is just straight-forward pop and some of it has gotten pretty dance-y, which is cool,” she said. “Some songs still have a little bit of a folky side.”
That right there is music to our ears. So be prepared for Hilary’s renaissance, because it’s coming and we seriously cannot WAIT.
