Hilary Duff Reveals She’s Been Exposed to COVID-19
She's now quarantining in her basement, and documenting the entire thing.
Hilary Duff is now living in her basement after being exposed to coronavirus (COVID-19). Duff updated her followers on Instagram over the weekend that she is currently in quarantine, writing on her Instagram Story, “Exposed to covid. Quarantine day 2. FML.”
Duff, who is currently pregnant and expecting baby (with husband Matthew Koma) to arrive in early 2021, has been reporting on her quarantine process via Instagram Stories regularly since entering the basement on November 20th. According to Billboard, Duff’s son Luca even began learning morse code to knock “I love you” through the door.
It’s unclear how/when Duff was exposed to COVID-19, which is currently spreading at a rapid pace throughout the United States. Nor has Duff disclosed whether or not she’s been tested since her exposure. But obviously, she’s taking all the necessary precautions the CDC recommends.
According to the CDC website, quarantine “is used to keep someone who might have been exposed to COVID-19 away from others,” thus preventing further spread of the virus—but you probably already knew that.
Those who need to take quarantine seriously are those who have been within six feet of someone with COVID-19 (for a total of 15 minutes or more) or made physical contact with an infected person, those who have provided care for someone who is sick with COVID-19, those who shared eating/drinking utensils with a COVID-19 infected person, or if a person with COVID-19 sneezed, coughed, or infected someone with “respiratory droplets.”
Luckily, Duff has a place to quarantine—and a little buddy to keep her company.
Judging on her Instagram content thus far, Duff will most likely keep us updated on how her quarantine is going and if she gets tested for COVID within the coming days. We appreciate that she’s keeping her family safe, no matter how bored the quarantine process may be.
