Hilary Duff explained why she relates to Selena Gomez’s dating history
It’s tough to date in Hollywood — especially when it’s often hard to find a private moment. But there’s another reason why Hilary Duff relates to Selena Gomez’s dating life, and it has nothing to do with hidden cameras or fan speculation. It’s because she, too, has gone back to an ex-boyfriend before.
Gomez has been in the news a lot these days — one reason being because she broke things off with The Weeknd and started hanging out with her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber once again. Gomez and Bieber have had a pretty interesting timeline, and this isn’t the first time she’s given the singer another shot.
As for Hilary Duff, she’s currently back together with ex-boyfriend Matthew Koma, and confirmed the news during an appearance on The Talk. She also stated that as of now, things are going great — which is good news, since sometimes it’s hard to move past the initial break up.
“I mean, this is the third time that we’ve dated and I think that what [Gomez] says has so much merit to it,” she said, referring to Gomez’s statement to Billboard that she cherishes people who impacted her life.
Gomez said that a true representation of love was “just beyond yourself.” Much like Gomez, Duff rekindling her relationship was also about timing.

Duff noted that “third time’s a charm,” and said that even if it didn’t work out before, it doesn’t mean it can’t work out in the future — especially if not a lot of damage is done.
Koma and Duff were introduced in 2015, when he worked with her on her studio album Breathe In. Breathe Out.
They started dating this year, but went through a few splits before officially reunited this October. We wish the happy couple nothing but the best!
