Hilary Duff’s new bright blue bob is what dreams are made of
Plenty of celebrities are using their time spent in quarantine to do a little beauty experimenting. From Miley Cyrus cutting her own bangs to Elle Fanning’s DIY candy-colored dye job, it’s fun to see what celebs are dreaming up in the comfort of their own homes. But the award for boldest hair change yet has to go to Hilary Duff, who just debuted a bright blue bob on Instagram.
She shared a surprised-looking selfie on Easter, captioning the shot with a simple “??♀️yea.” The shrug emoji—and her wide-eyed look—seems to indicate that she’s unsure about the hair transformation. In our opinion, though, this aqua blue hair really is what dreams are made of.
We can’t confirm if Duff’s blue hue comes courtesy of an at-home dye job or a fun wig. But we do know the mermaid-inspired color works on her.
Fans were quick to hit the comments section on the Younger star’s post, sharing that her blue hair reminded them of the last time she experimented with rainbow-colored strands. Back in 2015, while promoting her album Breathe In. Breathe Out., she tried many different shades. (Remember her cotton candy-colored hair?!). Does this hair transformation mean that more music is in the works?
Of course, Duff has been busy. Aside from welcoming her daughter, Banks, and getting married to Matthew Koma, she stars on Younger and is spearheading the upcoming Lizzie McGuire reboot. But she did just team up with her husband for a dreamy cover of Third Eye Blind’s “Never Let You Go.” So we’re not-so-secretly hoping that she’s working on new music while in quarantine.
Either way, we love a beauty chameleon. Back in 2015, Duff explained to MTV News that dyeing her hair blue was done on a whim. She dyed it the day after returning from a vacation in Mexico, adding, “I just felt a little wild.”
Seems like her Lizzie McGuire blonde is so yesterday…at least for now.
