Hilary Duff had $100,000 worth of jewelry stolen from her home while she was on vacation
While vacationing in Canada with her son Luca, Hilary Duff had $100,000 worth of jewelry stolen from her Beverly Hills home, and here’s what we know.
TMZ broke the news that the Younger star had been the victim of the crime, reporting that burglars had broken in through the doors of her home last Wednesday (July 19th) and pilfered through her belongings. Unfortunately, the alarm to her home never went off.
Hilary is just one of the latest celebs whose home has been targeted by criminals, with TMZ stating that fellow stars Scott Disick, Ronda Rousey, and Michael B. Jordan have all recently been robbed.
In a statement given to The Daily Mail, representatives for Hilary said that the star had upped her security following the incident: “This is a scary and upsetting situation for anyone to go through but Hilary is thankful that her family, her staff, her home and her pets are all safe.”
"That said, she has a significant security team in place that will work with the authorities on this incident and handle security measures moving forward."
Of course, it’s been nearly 10 years since the infamous bling ring rampaged around L.A. to steal from celebrities like Paris Hilton and Audrina Partridge. Their antics were the subject of a Vanity Fair feature, and later Sofia Coppola made a movie, The Bling Ring starring Emma Watson, about the crimes.
We’re just glad that no one present during the robbery at Hilary’s home and that she and her family, staff, and pets are all fine. In fact, the star is soldiering on with her vacation, and recently shared a video of herself diving into the water while in Canada.
We hope that the items stolen from Hilary turn up, and that those responsible are held accountable.
