A fan used random movie footage to make this *genius* “High School Musical 4” trailer

It has been announced that High School Musical 4 is a real thing that’s happening. Our DCOM-loving hearts are obviously ecstatic af! Unfortunately, none of the original cast has signed on to reprise their role. Vanessa Hudgens flat old told E!, “probably not with me, but I’m excited to see what they whip together.” And when Ashley Tisdale was asked, she told NewYou.com, “No. Looking back, it was such a perfect thing for its time and was so pure that I just don’t know how you go from there.”

So whatever form High School Musical 4 takes, we will definitely be introduced to a new set of Wildcats.

That being said, a fan made trailer for the fourth installment of the iconic musical flick has surfaced online starring all our faves from the original movies.

The faux trailer for Once a Wildcat is a soapy musical drama about East High’s students ten years later.

It’s. So. Good!

The trailer uses footage from various movies the stars have done post-Disney. We see some footage of Zac Efron from That Awkward Moment, and Hudgens from her NBC series Powerless. In it, Troy is still obsessed with Gabriela and Ryan is married with kids. It’s also scored to the ballad version of “What I’ve Been Looking For,” for ultimate feels.

While we’re stoked for whatever the Disney Channel cooks up, we can’t help but love a version where all the original stars are living in New York, pursuing musical theater at 28, and trying to figure out their lives.
