Trying to stay calm about the new ‘Heroes’ reboot trailer

NBC’s Heroes isn’t just getting rebooted or revived, it’s getting reborn. That’s right. This fall, the series that gave us that “save the cheerleader, save the world” mantra is back, and — I don’t want to get too excited about this — but it looks great. There’s a new trailer out for it, which includes old and new faces to Heroes. Among them is Zachary Levi, who might be tasked with saving the world this time.

NBC launched the original Heroes in 2006, and it was amazing. It was a superhero series before superhero series were a thing. It was a show that depicted regular folks finding out they’re X-Men, and it had Milo Ventimiglia (Gilmore Girls‘ Team Jess forever), so needless to say, I was a really big fan of the show. But, Ventimiglia’s Peter Petrelli flew a little too close to the sun, and after a while, the show lost its steam. Its original run wrapped up in 2010, and that was the last of our heroes. That is, until now.

So, what we can expect from the Heroes reboot? A lot. First of all, it appears as though someone can FLY. It’s also got OG Heroes‘ Man With The Horned Rimmed Glasses, Noah Bennet (Jack Coleman) along for the ride. Plus, brand new heroes, including Step Up‘s Ryan Guzman and Once Upon A Time’s Robbie Kay. And, last but certainly not least, my favorite hero: Masi Oka as Hiro. So. Much. YES.

Trying not to get too pumped for this, but that’s hard when the teaser trailer is SO GOOD. Heroes: Reborn flies back to our TV sets on September 24th.
