Here’s why we think this year’s VMAs will be bananas

It’s no surprise that the MTV VMAs are always wild. Seriously, we never have any idea as to what to expect to see at the award show. However, given the information we know so far, we can tell you in the wise words of Gwen Stefani, that this show will be B-A-N-A-N-A-S.

First off, MTV has yet to announce a host.

What does that even mean?! Will there be a surprise host? Will there just be people presenting awards and that’s it? Given the fact that they promoted the heck out of last year’s show when former Disney darling Miley Cyrus hosted, we’re curious as to how this will play out.

Then there’s the fact that none other than the iconic Britney Spears will perform her new single “Make Me” from her comeback album Glory.

The last time Spears graced the MTV stage was almost ten years ago, so this will *obviously* be huge.

Rihanna, who will be receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, is supposed to be giving a “holy crap VMA moment,” according to VMA producer Jesse Ignjatovic.

“I’m really excited because she’s taken this opportunity to inject her own creativity into it,” said Ignjatovic. “If we’re talking on Monday the 29th or after the show Sunday, everyone will be surprised with what she’s done to make this honor her own and something that’s extremely impactful.”

Kanye West might do something crazy.

And according to TMZ, Kanye West, who received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award last year and vowed to run for President in 2020, will have “four minutes to do what he pleases” on stage. Considering his VMA past, we honestly have no idea what to expect from the 39-year old rapper!
