Here’s how to recreate this chic summer outfit spotted in San Francisco
This summer, we’re scouring the Golden State for the season’s hottest trends from head to toe and taking style cues from our favorite California cities. Last week, we rounded up some seriously cool (and easy to DIY!) nail art trends from around Los Angeles. This week, we’re recreating the perfect summer look styled by one of San Francisco’s most popular fashion bloggers. Welcome to Street Stylized: California.
We like our summer style to be two things: cute and comfortable. This is the season for light, breathable fabrics. Despite warmer temperatures, with the right pieces, you can rock seriously cute looks and stay cool at the same time.
When we saw this chic summer outfit, we KNEW we had to copy it.
The look comes from style blogger Kate Ogata. Her blog, The Fancy Pants Report, is a treasure trove of summery outfit inspiration. Basically, we just discovered our new summer uniform.
Let’s break this cute outfit down, shall we?
To re-create Kate’s look, start with a striped jumpsuit or romper. We suggest the Striped Cold-Shoulder Jumpsuit from Madewell ($128) or the Off Shoulder Cotton Midi Dress from ASOS ($60). Both are blue and white striped, and both capture the easy-breeziness of summer living in SF.
Next, let’s talk about those adorable white platform tennies. (That bow though.) The shoes featured in the outfit are the Stacey Slip-On Sneakers by Rebecca Minkoff ($79.97). But you can also get the look with these Keds Triple Kick Leather sneakers ($64.95).
The circular straw bag adds a layer of texture and elevates the look from preppy-casual to perfectly polished. To get the look, we love the Circle Straw Crossbody Bag from J.Crew ($118) or the Samuji Circle Straw Bag from Moda Operandi ($300). You’ll carry a bag like this all summer long, with any outfit.
Lastly, round out the look with minimalist accessories. This Mini Crescent Moon Pendant Necklace from Charming Charlie ($8) will do the trick. The featured sunglasses are these hexagonal frames from Ray-Ban ($150). Or, you can get the look for less with these round frames from Target ($16.99).
And that’s it. Scrunch your hair into some woke-up-like-this beach waves and you’re good to go!
