Here’s how our fave beauty brands are helping those affected by Hurricane Harvey
Last week, the tropical storm Hurricane Harvey made landfall and immediately devastated Houston and Southeastern Texas with floodwaters. While people across the nation have compiled resources to support storm victims, some of our fave beauty brands are supporting Hurricane Harvey victims in their own way.
Since the desire to help victims of Hurricane Harvey and a love of makeup and beauty products aren’t mutually exclusive, we decided to highlight the ways some brands are giving back. Perhaps, if you personally know anyone affected by the storm, you could grab them a gift from one of these brands and give back in two ways at once. We’re glad to see brands funneling their resources towards people facing an emergency.
Here are just a few of the beauty brands helping with Hurricane Harvey relief.
Sara Happ
For today only, Sara Happ will donate 50% off their sales to the Houston Flood Relief Fund. You can donate directly to the fund, or grab The Rose Gold Slip blush for $24 with the knowledge that $12 will go to relief efforts.
Benefit Cosmetics
If you text HARVEY to the number 80100 then Benefit Cosmetics will donate $10 on your behalf to the GlobalGiving Hurricane Relief Fund. This makes us feel better about routinely blowing our checks on their Gimme Brow Gel ($24).
Drunk Elephant
The effects of Hurricane Harvey hit especially close to home for the Houston-based brand Drunk Elephant. On their website, they posted a list of organizations they’re funneling donations towards, in hopes of inspiring followers to do the same. Due to their location, any purchase is directly supporting the infrastructure of Houston (might we suggest the Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense SPF 30 for $36?).
Sunday Riley

Another Houston-based brand, Sunday Riley, is helping relief efforts by donating to the American Red Cross. You can follow suit by donating directly or supporting them by purchasing the Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil ($80).
Jouer
Through Friday, Jouer will donate 25% of all purchases to the Harvey Relief Fund with the entry of the promo code HARVEY. May we suggest the Powder Highlighter ($24)?
Winky Lux
When you buy Winky Lux’s best-selling lip velour PIPPY (which is named after founder and CEO Natalie Mackey’s French bulldog Pippy Lou), 100 percent of the proceeds will help the Houston Humane Society. For $14, you can help pets affected by the storm!
BeautyBlender
All day yesterday, Beauty Blender matched AND donated each of its sales of everything (including the classic BeautyBlender ($20) with a donation to the Houston Food Bank. It’s unclear whether that’s continuing today, but it can’t hurt to get a new makeup sponge and donate to the Houston Food bank.
