Here’s why everyone is talking about Miley Cyrus’ new tattoo
Repeat after us: My very educated mother just served us nine pizzas. Remember that? It’s the mnemonic device we learned as kids to remember the order of the planets in the solar system. Although now I guess instead of “nine pizzas” it’s more like “nachos.” (RIP, Pluto.)
The “J” stands for Jupiter, the fifth planet from the sun —and apparently Miley Cyrus’s favorite. The singer recently got a new tattoo of a planet, and shared a pic of her fresh ink on Instagram. She included the hashtag #lilbbjupiter, but there’s just one problem —the planet in question might not be Jupiter.
The planet tattooed on Miley’s left arm has rings, which leads up to believe that it’s actually Saturn, the planet commonly depicted as such. Still, we’ll give her the benefit of the doubt: Jupiter does have rings, along with Uranus and Neptune. They just aren’t as visible as Saturn’s.
This isn’t the first time a celeb has accidentally gotten the wrong tattoo. Last summer, Jennifer Lawrence admitted she probably should have googled the correct way to write “H2O” before getting it tattooed on her hand. Hayden Panettiere was also spotted getting ink removal because her ribcage tattoo, which says “Live Without Regrets” in Italian was misspelled.
Don’t worry, Miley. It happens to the best of us —space can be very confusing. And besides, people make way more embarrassing tattoo faux pas than this.
