Here’s how Ed Sheeran stays out of trouble while on tour
We imagine that when an artist goes on tour, things can get pretty wild, which is why it comes as no surprise to us that Ed Sheeran has his friends join him to keep him out of trouble.
If the last few months have taught us anything it’s that Ed Sheeran knows how to get himself into trouble. The British singer might have broken streaming records after releasing his latest album, ÷, but that hasn’t stopped him from regaling us with stories about hitting Justin Bieber with a golf club or being cut with a sword (something that may or may not have happened).

Well, after recounting stories of his troublemaking, Ed Sheeran has revealed that he’s now brought some of his friends on tour with him to help keep him on the straight-and-narrow.
Appearing on the British radio program Desert Island Discs, Ed revealed that he had, in fact, hired his friends to help him stay out of trouble.
“I don’t think I did deal very well with [fame]. It’s a weird thing, playing a venue like Wembley Stadium with 87,000 people and walking off to sit in a dressing room with nothing but an air conditioning sound. You don’t really know how to come down from there,” he admitted.
In 2015, Ed Sheeran played three dates at London’s historic Wembley Stadium, which has held sold-out shows for the likes of Michael Jackson and Queen.
Continuing, Ed said that there was a period where he actually lost it a little bit.
"You can’t really not go mental in that setting," he said. "But I have about 12 really close school mates that have been in the same group since we were about 11, and that has been a constant thread of sanity, so now I employ four of them to work on my tour."
Indeed, the singer revealed that his cousin, whom he also employed, threatened to quit working for him if he didn’t scale back the amount of drink and drugs being consumed.
Tbh, given that Ed is currently on tour again, we’re glad he has found a group of people who can support him when it all gets to be too much. We can’t imagine how hard it must be to balance the highs of performing and the somewhat exhausting schedule that comes along with it.
Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran recently shared the video for his latest single “Galway Girl.”
