Here’s what Disney princesses would look like if they were played by celebs
The reimagining and remaking of original Disney stories and folk tales (which have inspired most Disney movies) has been Hollywood’s latest focus, and we’ve been seeing a lot of this trend (see: Into the Woods, the new Cinderella, the show Once Upon a Time). So when we spotted these cool photoshopped images of celebrities as Disney characters, not only were we ALL about the project, but the photos almost seemed. . . natural. Like, duh. Why hasn’t a Frozen remake starring Scarlet Johansson been made yet? Or a Snow White musical featuring the ever-whimsical Katy Perry?
In this Disney Meets IRL Celebs series, Thomas Kurniawan, the creator of these rad images, decides which actress fits the story best, and then designs the movie poster. According to Twisted Sifter, Kurniawan uses “actual images of the celebrities and [photoshops] them into realistic looking movie posters.”
If you check out Kurniawan’s blog, you can also check out all his other amazing, super cool Disney art. He’s done everything from The Lion King to Sailor Moon (which isn’t Disney, I know, but it’s still stellar) to Maleficent. Check out some of the posters here, and prepared to be totally dazzled.
