And if you’re a fan of online shopping for your Christmas gifts, there’s also the pesky logistics of your order needing to be processed and shipped before it gets to you. To avoid running to the mall on Christmas Eve, here’s a helpful guide to when the last days you can holiday shop online to make sure you get your gifts before Christmas.
While delivery times for websites like eBay and Etsy depend on the seller, the bigger retailers have set times and dates for delivery. So if you don’t want to be spending your Christmas day hiding in the basement from your family while you wrap their presents (we’ve been there), then here are the deadlines to order your holiday gifts to ensure a pre-Christmas delivery. *All times are PT.

To benefit from the plethora of items available on Amazon, order by December 16th (free shipping), December 19th (standard shipping), or December 22nd (two-day shipping — free with prime) to get them by Christmas Eve. If you want to live on the edge — and live in a city where it’s available — you can also try out Amazon’s one-day shipping, same-day shipping, and even two-hour shipping.
2Best Buy
If you’ve got electronics lovers on your list, order by December 21st by 8:30 a.m. PT and receive your item — big or small — by December 23rd. As a bonus, Best Buy offers free shipping until December 24th.
3Toys “R” Us
For the kids young and old on your list, order your toys by December 19th at 8:59 p.m. to get free shipping with a $19 purchase. You have two bonus days if you don’t mind paying for shipping since you can place an order on December 21st for expedited shipping (by 12 p.m.) or express shipping (by 8:59 p.m.).
4Bed Bath & Beyond
If you’re ordering items for your friends or family that fit in any of the three categories of Bed Bath & Beyond, order by December 19th (standard shipping), December 21st (expedited shipping), or December 22nd (express shipping) for Christmas Eve delivery.
