Here are the two celebrities Katy Perry would love to see as “American Idol” judges

It seems like she’s been pretty unstoppable recently. Not only is she hosting the VMAs this year, but Katy Perry will be an American Idol judge. And while we’re still learning a little bit more about this much-anticipated reboot, Perry herself has a few ideas on what would make the popular show just a little bit better.

Perry chatted with Ryan Seacrest, who’ll be returning as host, to discuss who her two dream judges would be. And let’s just say, it’s obvious that Perry put a lot of thought into her dream list.

"I'm really pulling for Lionel [Richie], because I think Lionel is an icon, and not only that, but if you've ever met Lionel, he just knows how to charm the whole room ... I love Lionel," she said on Seacrest's radio show.

So do we.

But of course, the show is best with three judges. So, who’d fill that final spot in Perry’s lineup?

"Charlie [Puth] I think is an interesting play because Charlie Puth is someone new to the general public of America...Obviously he has his own big fan base, but I think he's really talented," she said. "He's a writer; he's a producer; he's young; he's hip; he's fresh. Between Lionel and me, it would be nice to have someone a little more fresh."

Puth, who’s 25, might be best known for penning “See You Again,” a song written about Paul Walker that was featured on the soundtrack for the film Furious 7.

Perry admitted that out of the original judges, she might be the most like Simon Cowell. Sure, he was known for being mean — but he arguably helped shape the show into a success.

We’ll be tuning in no matter what, because Katy Perry will definitely dish out some incredible advice.
