There’s a new “Head of Fashion” at Instagram (so, basically our dream job)
We all know that Instagram is where you go if you want to get a taste of some of the best fashion. It’s become such a hub of style and advertising that it makes sense that Instagram needs a Head of Fashion to manage it all. So of course they picked Eva Chen, former editor-in-chief of Lucky magazine and Instagram mogul, boasting over 395 thousand followers.
An Instagram spokesperson explained why she was the perfect choice:
As head of fashion partnerships, it’s likely she’ll use her Instagram expertise to work with bloggers, brands and models to effectively promote and manage Instagram’s already intense relationship with the fashion world.
Eva’s known on Instagram for things like the #EvaChenPose (crossed-leg feet, bag, usually in the back of a taxi) and founding @photogenicwalls (if you’re a long-time follower of her Instagram, some of these will look familiar!). All this has contributed to a well-curated brand that’s friendly while also financially viable — pretty much exactly what this new job is all about.
Fittingly, she announced this change on Instagram:
Eva left her job at Lucky after two years, what she called an “intensely personal/difficult” decision. This, however, seems like the perfect fit, and we can’t wait to see how she puts the Eva-Chen-spin on all of Instagram!
