Here’s the new HBO show everyone’s talking about (Spoiler: It looks scary good)
HBO is not messing around with its new show.
The first trailer for Westworld is here, and it’s the most intense 30 seconds you’ll see on the Internet all day. We’re talking long ominous hallways. Deep echoing canyons. A piano that plays itself. Slow-motion running through an empty field. James Marsden on a train. What does it all mean, HBO?!
Production for Westworld has been ongoing for quite some time now. Our curiosity began when Miranda Otto departed the show after the pilot was filmed, and has only grew stronger when actors like Clifton Collins and Sidse Babett Knudsen were added to the cast. At this point, anticipation is through the roof. And with good reason—it sounds like stunning, visually stimulating show.
Westworld is a futuristic theme park with lifelike android bots, designed to help you live out your darkest, most twisted fantasies. Say what?! The show is based on the 1973 thriller of the same name. There’s blood, dirt, grime and even paint involved. The short clip appears to be terrifyingly futuristic with a wild west twist, but we can tell there’s more to it than that.
Billed as a sci-fi drama, the show has a star-studded cast, including James Marsden, Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Anthony Hopkins, Jeffrey Wright and Ed Harris. Not to mention some of the brainpower behind the scenes: J.J. Abrams and Jonathan Nolan (brother to Christopher).
Check it out and be mildly freaked out (in a good way, of course).
All we know right now is it’s coming in 2016. Tell us more!
