HBO’s new streaming service is now live—and free. Be still our hearts!

If you’ve been among those eagerly waiting for the day when HBO will release their standalone streaming service, you’re in luck – that day is today! HBO Now, as it’s already been dubbed, is available for anyone to use with an Internet connection. You can either download the app via your iPad or your iPhone, or sign up via your Apple TV.

The streaming service is a welcome addition for people who either didn’t want to have to pay for cable in order to get their HBO shows or were secretly mooching off their parents’/friends’/exes’ accounts. The good news is that HBO Now isn’t going to break the bank – at $15 a month, it’s actually somewhat reasonable compared to other streaming services. And if you sign up for HBO Now this month, it was also announced that there will be a 3o-day free-trial period.

As far as we’re concerned, this is too good to resist – and you can definitely get a lot of binge-watching in before the free month is up.

If you’re still not convinced, then allow us to refresh your memory on just how many great shows you can watch via HBO: Game of Thrones, Girls, The Jinx – not to mention all the fantastic shows that have long since left the airwaves but are still available to check out via HBO Now, like Sex and the City or Deadwood or True Blood.

Personally, I’m going to use this time to finally sit down and watch The Wire like I’ve been saying I will for the last several years.
