Harry Styles explained why he doesn’t feel the need to discuss his sexuality

For this young star, it’s all about the music. Harry Styles was asked about his sexuality, and his response was pretty interesting. Sure, it’s incredible and progressive for many stars, but not for Styles.

In an interview for reporter Dan Wootton’s Bizarre column, he noted that the sexuality question is one he never felt the need to answer.

"Being in a creative field, it's important to be progressive," he said. "People doing stuff like that is great. It's weird for me—everyone should just be who they want to be."

In general, Styles is pretty secretive about his love life.

Of course, people end up finding out — like with his past relationship with Taylor Swift, and his current rumored relationship with chef Tess Ward. But it seems like he’s not out to make headlines based on who he’s dating.

"I don't really talk about it, I guess," Styles said. "The rollercoaster affects different people in different ways. One of the ways that helps me dealing with that is compartmentalizing between working."

For Styles, his love life is a totally different compartment. We totally get that.

These days, Styles is definitely in the news for all the right reasons.

His first solo album, which is self-titled, was just released — and it’s getting pretty great reviews. Rolling Stone even gave it four out of five stars.

While we love when celebrities open up about their sexuality, we do appreciate the fact that Styles doesn’t see it as an issue that needs a ton of discussion. In his mind, he feels “like it’s something [he’s] ever felt like [he] have to explain” about himself. And we admire that he’s sticking towards his own beliefs on that.
