Did Harry Styles just come out as bisexual? Fans are taking his new song “Medicine” as confirmation

Send in the sleuths. Harry Styles fans think there’s a mystery to be solved and — surprise, surprise — they’re on the case. The question at hand is whether the former One Direction singer may have suggested he’s bisexual in the lyrics of an unreleased song he performed this week on tour. It’s a theory plenty of fans have floated before and, with new evidence, Harry Styles devotees seem determined to get to the bottom of this — whether it’s any of their business or not. (Hint: It’s not, but moving on.)

In “Medicine,” the song Harry Styles first performed publicly on Tuesday, March 13th, during a tour stop in Paris, he apparently sings, “The boys and the girls are here/ I mess around with him/ And I’m OK with it.” (Though, Billboard points out that it’s *possible* the words could be “I mess around a bit.”)

Fans were quick to label the new track a “bi anthem” and a confirmation that Styles doesn’t have a gender preference. But Styles has said in the past that he doesn’t feel his sexuality needs to check a neat box:

"Everyone should just be who they want to be," he told the UK's The Sun last year. "It's tough to justify somebody having to answer to someone else about stuff like that."

His fluid attitude is refreshing, to say the least, and makes the ongoing rumors about what label he falls under seem pretty silly, tbh (the dude does NOT like labels). But you know the internet: If people see an opportunity to analyze their favorite celeb’s love life, they. will. take. it.

In this case, even our Olympic hero Adam Rippon, who’s been vocal about his Styles feels in the past, weighed in on the matter.

Harry Styles hasn’t addressed the swirling speculation and we’re guessing he won’t, but that surely won’t stop the Styles Squad. If this song drops as a single, considering his track record of number one hits in the past few months, the conversation will only get louder.
