It seems Harry Potter is all around us, always, even when there’s not a new Harry Potter movie out. Now, we found out that this Harry Potter running club is using the magic of fandom to help save the world, as Brit + Co reported. And why not, right? After all, there are Hogwarts school sweaters and Harry Potter-themed makeup palettes. So why not a running club, too?!
What exactly is a Harry Potter running club?!
It’s actually called the Hogwarts Running Club and is a nonprofit organization that holds virtual races inspired by Harry Potter. Yup, it’s as magical as it sounds!
The money raised then benefits various charities. So far, the organization has donated over $800,000 (!) to many, many important causes. The charities range from ones that benefit youth and veterans to animals and the environment.
The best part?
Participants can complete the runs on their schedule. Yes, this means at any location, any time, and any pace, according to Brit + Co. It sounds like a win-win for sure.
