We’re obsessing over these fresh new ‘Harry Potter’ book designs

Christmas came early, Harry Potter fans. In answer to potent wishes we didn’t even know we had, Hungarian design student Kinsco Nagy, has revamped the covers for all seven of the Harry Potter books as part of her BA project. In doing so she created a beautiful new concept for the world’s most-read book franchise — giving it a grown-up, ethereal feel that we are ready to display on our bookshelves right NOW.

Nagy re-imagined new bindings and glow-in-the-dark covers for all seven books with graceful cutout illustrations inside the books themselves, transforming something we already love into something we somehow love even more. Honestly, these revamped reads are so gorgeous we’d be scared to get our paws on them, but that doesn’t stop from putting them the top of our wish list.

Although Nagy has redesigned the covers for all the books, she has only fully illustrated the first installment, Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone, with interactive pictures that move (that’s right, they LITERALLY move). As of yet, they’re not for sale, but we’re hoping somehow, someday, someway, they will be. Nagy, who obviously understands what it means to be a Potter fan said about her project, “Basically these books are on the border of childhood,” and it was important to her to “not distract attention from the plot, but add to the story.” We think we might be in love with her.
