JK Rowling and ‘Harry Potter’ cast members are sharing touching tributes to John Hurt
When news broke that legendary actor John Hurt had passed, many took to Twitter to share their grief. (The man acted for decades, after all, and in over 200 films.) But what we might not remember is that John Hurt played Ollivander in the Harry Potter movies. As such, many of his Harry Potter brethren are also sharing their remembrances.
Here’s what J.K. Rowling had to say about John Hurt:
So very sad to hear that the immensely talented and deeply beloved John Hurt has died. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Hundreds of fans replied to J.K. Rowling’s tweet, many with their own remembrances of his films. While many had different favorite films, all agreed that he was a phenomenal actor.
Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny Weasley, had this to say:
John Hurt. What an acting legend. Rest in peace dear Sir. Wand shopping won't be the same without you ⚡️ pic.twitter.com/jRrRCX8PZv

Stephen Fry, who narrates the Harry Potter audio books, said:
Oh no. What terrible news. We've lost #JohnHurt as great on the stage, small screen and big. A great man & great friend of Norfolk & #NCFC

Pottermore also showed a tribute from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando.
