Prepare your hearts: We have HUGE ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ news!

We’ve all been waiting patiently for more news about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child ever since it was announced this past June. Since then, we’ve learned the play will be in two parts, and that it is definitely NOT a prequel. J.K. Rowling herself has confirmed that the play will take place directly after the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, “Nineteen Years Later”! CUE ALL THE SCREAMS.

The official (gorgeous) artwork (see above) and full synopsis for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child have also both been released on Pottermore:

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

This synopsis closes a lot of “What if?”s in our minds, but raises so many other questions. We know Harry’s son James was just sorted into Gryffindor, but will Albus end up in Slytherin? I personally hope so, and that the play deals with the aftermath of how the Potter family deals with that. I love Gryffindor house since it’s my house and all, but Albus ending up in Slytherin would be such a great thing for the play to explore (and hopefully redeem my secondary house a little bit). We’re also SUPER STOKED that this means the story isn’t over, as many fans felt there was much to be desired after the epilogue.

The play will feature more than 30 yet-to-be-announced actors, and will run at the Palace Theatre in London’s West End. Now here’s what you need to know about getting your hands on tickets.

Every Potter fan who thought there was even the slimmest chance they might be in London next summer signed up for priority booking, with a promise that tickets would go on sale this fall but not much other ticket-sale information than that. Well, the day has come, my friends: Priority tickets go on sale next week!

Starting Wednesday, Oct. 28, those who have signed up for priority booking – which you should if you haven’t, since there are less than two days left to do so – can start reserving their seats. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Oct. 30. Preview shows, with cheaper tickets, will run from June 7 through July 29, 2016. The world premiere will be July 30 – on Neville’s 36th birthday! – and tickets will be available through the September 18 shows (though the site implies this is only the first run of shows).

Here’s the scoop on the two-part thing: On Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, audience members can see both of the show’s parts in one day (Part I at a matinee time, Part II in the evening); those who wish to see the show on two separate days can see Part I in the evening on Thursday, and Part II in the evening on Friday. Prices vary based on the day(s) you attend, and the official site even has a handy infographic to help you figure out which day(s)/show(s) best fit your needs.

I know I’m not alone when I say ACCIO, OCT. 28!

Now check out this quick teaser for the show and get even more psyched.
