“Harry Potter” actor Jim Tavaré was in a serious car accident, and we’re hoping all is okay

You might not recognize the actor and comedian Jim Tavaré by name, but you know his face. He played the owner of the Leaky Cauldron in Harry Potter, and he’s been in numerous movies and shows over the last 20 years. We’re sad to report that Tavaré has suffered a broken neck from a car accident earlier this week, and we’re hoping that he’s staying strong.
We know from his wife Laura’s Facebook post that he was in a head-on collision, and is currently in intensive care with 15 broken ribs and a punctured lung, among other fractures and breaks. He’s definitely got a long recovery ahead, but at this point he is alive and conscious and able to give us a “thumbs up”. We’re crossing our fingers that his first surgery goes smoothly.
"This is for real, not a movie role. Please hold some good thoughts for him as he fights his way out of this."
Since the accident, Tavaré has received many loving messages from fans and friends on social media. He had been working on a project just last week, and it’s truly shocking when life intervenes in such a catastrophic way.
Lots of love for my pal @jimtavare hope you make a speedy recovery man x
