Harrison Ford weighs in on whether his “Blade Runner” character really is a replicant, and we’re intrigued…
Harrison Ford and the filmmakers behind the upcoming Blade Runner movie are still debating the age-old “replicant” question, and Harrison’s take on it has us intrigued.
In the original Blade Runner, released in 1982, Harrison played Rick Deckard, a blade runner who is sent to execute four rogue human-like androids (replicants).
Since then, fans have wondered whether or not Rick himself might also be an android who only appears to be human.
We’re itching to find out too, TBH!
In the newest version of the story, Blade Runner 2049, Ryan Gosling stars alongside Harrison (reprising his original role as Rick), and that has kick-started the debate all over again.
Is Rick a replicant or isn’t he? Producer Ridley Scott insists that Rick is a replicant, while Harrison and co-screenwriter Hampton Fancher disagree.
Harrison has given a diplomatic, if slightly maddening, response.
"I can tell you that it was a question that was of interest to me when we made the first film, and I’m not sure I ever got a straight answer from the people I was working with at that point," Harrison said. "I think the answer to your question is worth the price of admission."

Here’s a theory: If Rick is really a replicant, could Ryan’s character be the one to expose him? Also, side note, does that mean replicants age?! So many questions!
Even if the long-running debate doesn’t end with this new film, at the very least we might get some hints.
