Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy became an official couple in this comic book
It has finally happened! Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are officially a couple, because love is love — even in comic books. In the new DC Comic’s: Bombshells #79, the classic Batman series characters are finally declaring their love, and it couldn’t be more beautiful.
The series is set in a universe where popular DC characters are depicted as 1940s pinup-style heroes during World War II. And the love story of these two villains-turned-anti-heroes is a brand new story arc.
Harley and Ivy have a long history together.
They first became close friends back in the ’90s on the cartoon TV show Batman: The Animated Series. Fans were drawn to them because of their flirty friendship, and because it was impossible to figure out where their relationship was going. Over the years, various comic book series have hinted at a more-than-friends relationship. In fact, in last year’s Bombshells #42, the two ladies shared their first kiss, which was obviously a very exciting step in their relationship.
Back in 2015, Harley Quinn series writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner confirmed that Harley and Ivy aren’t just emotionally supportive of each other, they’re in an open relationship.

So now, in Friday’s weekly digital-first chapter 79, the love story between Harley and Ivy is finally the focus of a storyline we can only hope is ongoing.

We’d love to see their relationship blossom into a full fledged supportive, monogamous love story — if that’s what they want, of course.
