Happy Birthday To Mary-Kate and Ashley

No celebrities in history have made the transition from child stars to current icons as gracefully as the Olsen twins. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have been exceedingly relevant in pop culture for every child of the ’90s and have only gained more popularity with time. I’d like to say that the fraternal twins have grown with me: the duo were spunky, cute and relatable when I was little; they were learning to drive when I thought that being behind the wheel was the epitome of teenage freedom, and today the sisters are unapologetically chic in an age where fashion is my highest aspiration and pastime. I know I speak for a generation of girls (and even guys) when I say I feel like Mary-Kate, Ashley and I grew up together, like they were the sisters I didn’t have. The phrase, “You got it, dude” is still widely used in everyday post-Olsen vernacular. Let’s take a walk down memory lane to celebrate the life of these twins – who started in the field at 6 months old – as they turn 27 today.
