Happy Birthday, Suzanne Collins!

Today August 10th is the birthday of popular Hunger Games author, Suzanne Collins!

We all probably know her from her Hunger Games trilogy or maybe her New York Times Best Selling Series The Underland Chronicles. But did you know that she also had a hand in writing for children’s TV shows?! Do you know her favorite books as a teen?

Some Things You Didn’t Know About Suzanne Collins

She worked on a handful of TV shows for Nickelodeon beginning in 1991 and including; Clarissa Explains it All, The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo, Little Bear, and Oswald. Clarissa Explains it All, you guys!! She worked on that!!

She received a Writers Guild of America nomination in animation for co-writing the critically acclaimed Christmas special, Santa, Baby!

She also wrote a rhyming picture book, When Charlie McButton Lost Power (2005), illustrated by Mike Lester.
