A “Hangover” star just joined “The Good Wife” spinoff, because we do deserve good things
If The Good Wife is one of those shows you knew about about but didn’t watch, that, dear readers, is a travesty. Start watching! If The Good Wife doesn’t interest you, perhaps The Good Wife‘s sexy new spin-off The Good Fight will grab you.
The Hangover star Justin Bartha is joining The Good Fight!
That’s right, Christine Baranski, one of the former stars of The Good Wife, will be returning as Diane Lockhart, a powerful feminist badass lawyer who has fallen on hard times. As we reported earlier, The Good Fight takes place a year after the finale of The Good Wife. It follows “an enormous financial scam that has destroyed the reputation of a young lawyer, while simultaneously wiping out her mentor Diane Lockhart’s savings.”
But it seems that there’s more to the show than investigative drama. There’s going to be some romance, too, and that’s where Justin Bartha comes in.
And we all know The Good Wife was famous for some steamy romance!
According to E!, Bartha’s character is an up-and-comer in the State’s Attorney office, who is also a desirable bachelor. “Romantic sparks fly” when he squares off against Lucca Quinn (Angela Florrick’s former drinking buddy) in the courtroom. And we all remember how awesome Lucca Quinn is:
Just imagine the fireworks!
Now that sounds like good entertainment. We’re already crushing Justin Bartha a bit!
The Good Fight executive producers and co-creators Robert and Michelle King said of Bartha:
"Whenever you're looking for a romantic lead, you look for someone who can play the comedy and the sexuality, but even more importantly is the intelligence...And that's what we love about Justin: he can play all three: the comedy and the sexuality, but he's also convincing as a tough intellectual foe to Cush Jumbo [Lucca] in court. We couldn't be happier."
And neither could we! This may trump the will-they-won’t-they romance of Will and Alicia from The Good Wife‘s heyday. And on that note, time to watch some The Good Wife reruns.
