The plot of the Young Han Solo movie will make all our Han Solo dreams come true

Maybe you’ve heard about this upcoming Star Wars spinoff-prequel movie, the (still untitled) Young Han Solo movie. It’s probably going to be really good. But what is it going to be ABOUT?

So far, we haven’t learned too much about this movie, other than the fact that it is coming and we are READY. But now thanks to a delightful press release — and the first picture from the movie!! —  we’ve got a much better idea as to what we’re going to see when it hits theaters on May 25th, 2018.

Ever daydream about the events that brought Han to the Millennium Falcon? Well, we’re probably about to find out.

Though the press release doesn’t divulge much, it clues us in a little bit:

The movie will explore [Han and Chewbacca's] adventures before the events of 'Star Wars: A New Hope,' including their early encounters with that other card-playing rogue from a galaxy far, far away, Lando Calrissian.

On the off chance you don’t know the mythology behind the Millennium Falcon off the top of your head (it’s okay if you don’t, it’s a lot to know) once upon a time Han won the ship from Lando Calrissian during a game of sabacc – a card game.

Or, if you want to look at it a different way, sounds like the Young Han Solo movie will tell the tale of how Lando lost the Millennium Falcon.

This press release sure makes it sound like we’re going see this whole game play out. And while yeah, space card games are not the most exiting thing to watch in the Star Wars universe, admit that you’d watch like 45 hours of holographic chess.

This movie is sure starting to sound like When Han Met the Millennium Falcon, and that is fine by us.
