Our first look at what *might* be Emilia Clarke in the Han Solo movie is (maybe) here
Put the Millennium Falcon in auto-drive for a hot sec because it looks like the first glimpses from the set of the untitled Han Solo film have arrived! The photos, released by TMZ, depict what the website believes to be Emilia Clarke, Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, and Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca) in costume.
HelloGiggles isn’t going to be posting the images because we *seriously* don’t want to be sued by Lucasfilm (we love you and fear you!! Emphasis on the love!!) but the photos can be found on TMZ’s website.
Seriously, click here, and then come back so we can talk about it.
According to the site, the photos are from the Chris Miller/Phil Lord era of filming, so it remains to be seen if the scene they depict will appear in the final cut of the film. While we’ve obviously seen Chewbacca before, and if you’ve seen one Han Solo you’ve seen them all, and Harrelson appears to have a mustache (well, that’s nothing short of great), this *might* be our first look at Ms. Clarke’s role in the movie. She’s dressed in a very Mon Mothma style outfit. Might she be playing a Senator?
Last month, the production made headlines after directors Lord and Miller were fired from the project by LucasFilm president Kathleen Kennedy and production went on a brief hiatus. Just a few days later, Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard was named their replacement. The cast — which includes Clarke, Ehrenreich, Harrelson, Suotamo, Donald Glover, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Thandie Newton — has remained largely mum about the drama surrounding the project.
While we’re still super curious about how all the behind-the-scenes drama will affect the final cut of the film — and how the leaked footage play into it — it doesn’t look like Lucasfilm is too concerned. The film’s release date is still scheduled for May 2018.
