10 Halloween date night ideas if you’re not into that whole party thing

Halloween is tomorrow, which means we’re likely getting asked that dreaded question:
“What are you doing for Halloween?”
For those of us who do not wish to attend a Halloween party, this question always makes our stomachs plummet. What will people think? Below are ten alternatives to that dreaded Halloween party, that still can keep you and your beloved in that Halloween mood.
1. Watch a scary movie
One of the most popular alternatives to a house party, watching a scary movie gives you all the thrills of the holiday safe under a bundle of blankets. Options include classics like Halloween or the works of Alfred Hitchcock or humorous cult films like the much-beloved Hocus Pocus. Regardless of the movie choice, watching one together provides excuses to snuggle!
2. Carve a Pumpkin
It’s never too late to carve a pumpkin! It can be quite the bonding experience.
3. Bake Halloween-inspired goodies
Surprise your friends the day after Halloween with fresh-made fall favorites, such as pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, or Halloween cookies… (Plus, we hear chocolate is an aphrodisiac.)
4. Late Night Corn Maze and/or Haunted House
Most towns have some sort of Halloween attraction, whether it be a corn maze, a local haunted house, or even an escape room! There’s nothing more romantic and/or fun than getting lost together!
5. Watch Trick or Treaters
There’s nothing more adorable than watching little kids trick or treat! Grab your friend/loved one (so you don’t look like a total creeper) and head to one of the more popular trick or treating neighborhoods to admire the festive attire!
6. Go to a midnight screening
No doubt there’s a midnight screening this Halloween of one of the beloved cult classics. Rocky Horror Picture Show is often a popular choice. Don’t forget the popcorn!
7. Tell scary stories
Find a group of friends and take turns telling your spookiest stories. Winner gets candy! (Again: this provides an excellent snuggling excuse for when you get scared.) This is a great Halloween date if you’ve got a bunch of couple friends!!
8. Decorate your porch!
Lure adorable trick or treaters to your porch by taking the holiday as an excuse to do some DIY-Halloween crafts together!
9. Be kids again with Halloween cartoons
Sure, Halloween is supposed to be *scary* but if your nerves are shot, there’s nothing wrong with a bowl of caramel popcorn and some great Halloween kids movies. Try It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! , The Legend of Sleepy Hallow, or Paranorman!
10. Take a spooky night walk
There’s something so mysterious about making your Halloween date a nighttime stroll. Crunch through the leaves, spot the cutest trick-or-treaters, and maybe even let yourself meander into a cemetery for extra atmosphere. After all, you’re going to need to burn off all those Kit-Kats somehow!
