Halle Berry revealed that Storm and Wolverine had a fling in a deleted “X-Men” scene

Any tried and true fan of the X-Men movies knows one eternal truth: Wolverine is in love with Jean Grey, and will always be in love with Jean Grey. It’s basically his thing, and it’s honestly kinda annoyingSo imagine our surprise when Halle Berry revealed that Wolverine and Storm kissed in a deleted X-Men: Days of Future Past scene (and no, this wasn’t a Mystique-pretending-to-be-Storm situation…this was actual Storm and actual Wolverine sharing a romantic mouth-to-mouth). WHAAAAT?!

In an interview with People and EW editorial director Jess Cagle, Berry revealed that in the original script, Wolverine kisses Storm before traveling back in time.

And while the scene ultimately didn’t make it into the movie, she said that she and Jackman used the scene to inform their character’s backstories. Namely, that Storm and Wolverine were lovers until Wolverine ultimately gave his heart to Jean Grey. Berry said that in their minds, “Storm was heartbroken.”

Hmmm….

Here’s the steamy kiss so you can see it for yourselves (you’re welcome):

Berry went on to say,

“I joke in the movies, I’m like, ‘How come nobody’s loving on Storm.’ Like what’s wrong with Storm? Nobody is checking for Storm. So, we decided that Storm and Logan had a thing, and then Jean came and messed that up.

Okay, we totally get where Berry is coming from. Storm is a QUEEN, and men and women alike should be falling at her feet. But again, we’re not totally sold on this particular backstory (because like, would Storm really go for a gruff he-man totally out of touch with his emotions/allow herself to be taken in by a guy who’s obviously pining away for someone else? We think not. Storm is too evolved for that). In the end, we’re admittedly glad it got left on the cutting room floor.

Thoughts? Comments? Collective outrage? Do tell.
