Trying out a new hair color as the seasons change is a beauty tale as old as time, with traditional trends leaning toward darker hair for winter. After all, there’s something about the cold weather that makes us crave deep, dark hair as we hibernate and wait for spring. But if you need some motivation to switch up your hair and go blonde for the winter months, look no further than Normani, who just debuted platinum blonde hair for a magazine shoot.

The “Love Lies” singer has had her signature brunette strands as long as we’ve known her, but she’s trying out an entirely new vibe. And it’ll make you rethink everything you believed about winter hair.

Normani tried out a blonde wig by Wildform for V Magazine‘s winter issue. So while it seems her new look was temporary for the shoot, we hope she goes blonde again very soon. She opted for long blonde waves that she kept darker at the roots, and it’s the perfectly sunny shade as we prepare for darker days, frigid temps, and snowy weather galore.

Check out her new look, which was styled by César DeLeön Ramirêz, who also designed her wig.

Okay, Normani, we’re officially obsessed.

The shoot was inspired by Madonna’s Blonde Ambition era, so Normani channeled her inner “Material Girl” by rocking lingerie-inspired looks—and we think Madonna herself would definitely approve.

Check out a video from the shoot, because her blonde strands look even better in motion.

We’ll have to wait and see if Normani thinks blondes have more fun. But either way, she looks capital-S stunning—and we’re inspired to call our own stylists.
