This brilliant stylist transforms hair into literal works of art
A Kansas-based hairdresser is paying homage to some of her favorite paintings by transforming them into the best version of rainbow hair you’ve ever seen.
Ursula Goff interprets the famous works of art through her hair coloring technique, playing with light, shadow, and tones to mimic the paintings. The end results are stunning and dramatic. She calls it her Fine Art Series, and she’s recently been posting it on Instagram to much fanfare.
In one of her posts, Goff says that she attended community college for her cosmetology degree, but has been interested in art since she was a child. The new wave of coloring techniques that are gaining popularity have helped her combine the two passions to create her own type of art.
“I tend to color hair much the same way I color a canvas, using the same sorts of color application techniques and identical color theory,” she explained in one of her Instagram captions.
So far, the budding artist has designed creations inspired by Andy Warhol, Botticelli, Monet, Van Gogh, O’Keefe, Johannes Vermeer, Edvard Munch, Gustav Klimt, and Roy Lichtenstein. You can see her entire Fine Art Series on Instagram, where you can also read her explanations behind the art.
