Hailey Baldwin gets real about her mental health—”Before this year, I wasn’t balancing anything”

Model, television host, and potential new wife of Justin Bieber Hailey Baldwin opened up about her mental health in a Harper’s BAZAAR feature out today, October 16th. Baldwin’s life has changed a lot in the past year: She’s become the global face of Tommy Hilfiger, has walked many high-profile runways, and got engaged to one of the most famous humans on the planet. And she says she’s learned to take better care of herself—both inside and out.
"It’s easy to not think about your mental health or your physical health because you keep pushing, pushing, pushing," Baldwin told Harper's BAZAAR. "Before this year, I wasn’t balancing anything."
Luckily, Baldwin has found her stress-management outlets: Church, boxing, and hanging out with her family. “They’re not afraid to call me out on my stuff,” Baldwin said about her fam.
“I actually listen to sermons on my phone when I’m on the road,” she added about staying grounded, noting that boxing helps because “as a New Yorker, I’m a bit aggressive sometimes.”
The publication noted that after a long day of shooting for Tommy and fielding interview questions, Baldwin remained calm, cool, and collected. She also seemed to find joy in talking about partner Justing Bieber. “He is incredible. He crushes everything. Every song, every feature. It’s crazy to see what he does. I’m always blown away.”
Although the lives of the rich and famous may seem easy and breezy, celebrities are real people with real issues, and Baldwin’s candidness about her mental health reminds us that everyone—no matter who they are—can benefit from support sometimes.
