The trailer for “Gypsy” is here, and this is the Netflix psychological thriller we’ve been waiting for

Netflix has comedy, drama, suspense, Marvel shows, and documentaries, and but they don’t have any anything to really mess with our mind — until now. The streaming site has just released the first trailer for the brand new Netflix original series, Gypsy, and we can guarantee you’re going to want to make this the next show you binge watch! Even if it is a binge in small doses, because this is heavy.

The upcoming series stars Naomi Watts as a Manhattan-based therapist who’s clearly got some dark skeletons in her closet. “I used to believe people determined their own lives, yet there’s one force more powerful than free will…Our desires,” utters Watt’s character Jean Holloway at the beginning of the trailer. It only gets more intense from there.

On the surface, Jean seems to have the perfect life, complete with an adoring husband (played by Billy Crudup) and an adorable daughter. As the trailer progresses, however, it becomes apparent that there are two sides to Jean: One that we see with her family, and another that involves giving in to her impulses— some of which come at the expense of other people.

“I guess I feel like I’ve been living my life as two people. I don’t know which one is real. I don’t know who’s in control anymore, confesses Jean toward the end of the trailer.

Don’t know about you, but we’re definitely hooked on Jean’s story and can’t wait to see how it unfolds! The good news is, if you’re just as excited as we are to check out Gypsy, you won’t have to wait long to unravel the mystery. All episodes of Gypsy, which also stars Sophie Cookson, Lucy Boynton, Karl Glusman, and Melanie Liburd, will be available to stream on Netflix beginning June 30th. Clear your schedule for that weekend.
