Gwyneth Paltrow’s birthday message to Cameron Diaz is #SQUADGOALS
One of our ultimate faves just turned 45! While we totally dug all of the sweet tributes, Gwyneth Paltrow’s birthday message to Cameron Diaz is one of our favorites. Why? Well, because Paltrow not only included a gorgeous photo of the two, but she mentioned some special memories that prove these two are definitely close friends.
Diaz noted back in 2012 that the pair became very close after her father, Emilio Diaz, passed away in 2008. Paltrow, unfortunately, knew how hard it was to lose a dad, and decided to reach out and offer some support. After that, the two became inseparable. So, not only is Paltrow’s message in honor of Diaz’s birthday, but it celebrates almost a decade of friendship.
"Your wisdom, humor, loyalty, cooking skills, guffaws, and ice cubes in rose get me through my life," Paltrow wrote. "I adore you with all my ❤️(And yes, we are wearing bibs in this picture)"
Well, we have a few questions about the bibs — but who wouldn’t?
Diaz also got a very special birthday shout out from her husband Benji Madden, who she married in 2015. Madden wrote that “I don’t think anyone could ever know the depth, kindness, and compassion that I get to experience [every day] thanks to my one and only,” which is — well — kind of what all of us wish our significant others would say on such a special day.
We hope this year has amazing things in store for Cameron Diaz. To celebrate, we should all put ice cubes in our rosé.
