Gwyneth Paltrow says we may be getting a Goop TV show, and this is what we know
Ready for more Goop in your life? Gwyneth Paltrow envisions a Goop television show in the future, and after hearing her thoughts, it sounds pretty interesting.
For those who may be unfamiliar, Goop is a lifestyle brand that Paltrow founded back in 2008. Back in the day, Paltrow told USA Today that she decided to call it Goop for a few reasons.
"It is a nickname, like my name is G.P., so that is really where it came from," she said, "And I wanted it to be a word that means nothing and could mean anything."
While a lot of topics are discussed on the brand’s website, Paltrow seems to really focus in on health and wellness. And if she had a television show, that’s exactly what she figures her show would be about.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Paltrow opened up about how she’d like to grow the brand.
"What we are thinking of doing is a TV show with the working title 'The Radical Wellness Show.' I would be going into the field and talking to any number of doctors, scientists, civilians, people in crisis in Flint, Michigan, where there is something to uncover and confront about wellness," Paltrow said. "We would want it to feel more Vice-y in its vibe, but we're just in the brainstorming phase."
We have to admit, there’s currently nothing else like that on television today. And since Paltrow has spent a lot of time in the industry, she might know what’ll work for today’s audience.
Speaking of, she also mentioned how she’d be spending less time with films. Why? Because to her, “work” involves building up Goop. We find that to be pretty inspiring.
