Gwyneth Paltrow and Goop are getting a Netflix series, and the poster is…interesting
If anyone is going to explore the realms of energy healing, cold therapy, exorcisms, and downright strange offshoots of wellness topics that some may consider pseudoscience, it’s going to be Gwyneth Paltrow. Mother of the Goop blog and lifestyle brand, Paltrow stars in a brand-new Netflix reality series called The Goop Lab, in which she and her Goop team explore the weird, uncomfortable, and sometimes sexy wellness trends that exist just outside the mainstream.
And, yup. The poster for the show features Paltrow posed in front of an artistic rendering of a vagina.
“Dangerous,” “unregulated,” and “scary” are all adjectives used in the trailer to describe the techniques, therapies, and workshops explored in each episode of The Goop Lab, which is set to premiere on Netflix on January 24th.
However, despite the fear associated with many of the ideas discussed in the show, Paltrow and her cohost, Goop’s chief content officer Elise Loehnen, want to inspire viewers to “reach new depths,” as metaphorically stated on the show’s poster.

Needless to say, this show is going to be a trip.
Based on the trailer’s startling like-to-dislike ratio on YouTube (as of January 7th, it has about 3,400 dislikes and only 912 likes), it’s clear Netflix audiences haven’t quite warmed up to the concept of The Goop Lab. Goop and Paltrow have been criticized for promoting unsafe and problematic remedies for common health issues, so it’s unsurprising that the show is already receiving negative feedback.
Only time will tell whether Paltrow can win people over to the Goop side via her Netflix series. We’ll certainly be tuning in to check out the topics that many may consider taboo, but we can’t yet say we’re willing to try any of them out.
Exorcism? Uh, no thanks.
