Gwen Stefani’s performance on ‘The Voice’ just made our hearts fully explode

Gwen Stefani has been totally rocking it lately. The singer and The Voice judge we all know and love not only debuted a new song entitled “Used To Love You” with a beautiful, raw music video, but also has been working in other avenues, creating a makeup line in collaboration with Urban Decay. Oh, and we can’t forget about the fact that she and new love Blake Shelton are pretty much the cutest couple in the entire world.

But now, Gwen Stefani has blown us away once again with her latest performance on The Voice. She’s performed “Used To Love You” several times since its recent release, but last night, she didn’t hold back for one second. Looking absolutely angelic in a stunning white gown standing on a platform surrounded by floral trees and fog, her performance was breathtaking, and left the audience screaming and the judges on their feet.

The song, which is thought to be largely about splitting from her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale after a 20-year relationship and 13-year marriage, is absolutely heartbreaking, a sure-to-be breakup anthem for anyone who’s endured a painful end to a relationship. “The song was not written that long ago,” Stefani said during a radio interview early last month. “I had been writing because my life blew up. I was going along thinking that was going to be the rest of my life and it’s not. I don’t know what happened. I’ve always wanted to write music so desperately because doing it is one thing that really validates me for myself.”

And you can absolutely tell that, although she’s moved on with her life, music is what has got her through it — as well as her fellow The Voice coaches. Gwen has said in the past that Pharrell Williams has helped to restore her confidence. “I am grateful that Gwen is in the most free place that I feel like she’s ever been since I’ve known her as a human being,” Pharrell told Entertainment Tonight before her performance last night. “Not just creatively, but as a human being, she’s floating right now.”

And, of course, Blake had something to say about his new partner as well: “I’m thankful for Gwen for tons of reasons,” he said, “but mostly because she makes us all look a whole lot better on this show.”
