Gwen Stefani thanks Blake Shelton for “kissing me back to life” and awww
Ah, we cannot get enough of these two lovebirds! Singer, Gwen Stefani thanked Blake Shelton for “kissing me back to life,” and our hearts are jumping up and down out of joy.
At Monday night’s Glamour Women of the Year Awards, Stefani was honored as one of the women the magazine dubbed as worthy of the award and when she took the stage to accept it, she of course thanked her family and loved ones, including boyfriend Shelton, who she met while being a coach on The Voice.
The No Doubt singer opened up her speech by reflecting on her past year of hardships and how she even made it to this point saying, “I just want to say that I was on my way here, driving, by myself in the limo, and I was like, ‘What! How did this happen to me? How did I get here? How did this happen this year?’”
"I was thinking back and I was thinking about my parents, who loved me the most out of anyone, and they planted a seed within me when I was a little girl, and it was a seed of faith," she continued to say on stage via E! Online.
The 47-year-old singer then revealed that about a year and a half ago she was at her lowest point following her divorce from Gavin Rossdale, but music helped her through.
"I was in a pool of tears, and I was so disappointed, and I was so low that I didn't think there was any way I could pick myself back up. And I remembered God gave me that gift [of music]," she explained.
"I knew I was chosen to do that. So I basically started pouring my heart into music, and music has saved my life...I'm so honored to be able to share my story and exchange that love back and forth [with my fans]."
The sweetest part of her speech however, was when Stefani thanked her loved ones and gave a special shout out to the “Came Here To Forget” singer for helping her see the light at the end of the tunnel.
"I just want to say thank you to my parents for that gift of faith. I want to say thank you to everyone who ever listened to my music. I am so honored and grateful," Stefani said, holding back tears.
"To my children, to my family, to Blake Shelton for kissing me back to life, thank you so much. I am blown away, I'm blown away by this room of unbelievable courage. It's unbelievable to be here tonight. I am really, really grateful."
Come on, could Stefani and Shelton be any cuter together? We are so happy to see these two lovebirds so in love.
