This guy sells fresh mountain air in a can, and you won’t believe how much it costs
For those who require nothing but the best for their respiratory systems, here’s an investment that may satisfy your breathing needs. There exists a man who has fresh mountain air for sale, but according to Uproxx, it’s gonna cost you a pretty penny.
Obviously John Green recognizes the many benefits that come with inhaling air that isn’t polluted and therefore charges accordingly for his product. At £200 — or almost $245.33 per can, to be exact — the British ex-pat from Switzerland take his air sales business seriously. He won’t reveal the exact location of his supposedly clean air in a can, except to say it comes from somewhere in the Swiss Alps.

We’re not exactly sure how Green is accurately measuring the cleanliness of this canned air (which will never not soundstrange), but this Huffington Post article on the recently opened Gotthard Base Tunnel in the Swiss Alps cites local residents’ longstanding complaints on air and noise pollution.
On the flip side, a 2016 report from the United Nations’ World Health Organization ranked Switzerland as having the 17th lowest number of deaths related to air pollution, so perhaps this guy is on to something.
Regardless of whether anyone chooses to pick up what Green is putting down, he’s not alone in his air sales enterprise. Last summer, both Canadian and Australian entrepreneurs sold cans of clean air to China, along with another British businessman named Leo de Watts, who sold his bottles of air at $115 a pop.
