This guy married his preschool crush, and the pictures are making us melt
Wondering if fairytale romances can come true? Apparently they can. We just heard of the sweetest love story ever (like, out of a movie status): This guy married his preschool crush 20 years after they met, and…OUR HEARTS.
Through a recent Facebook post, we learned that although they lost touch in elementary school, the pair reconnected through a mutual friend and dated throughout high school — even though they went to different schools. They then went to colleges in different states, but that didn’t break their tight bond and they continued dating.
Matt Grodsky proposed to Laura Scheel in 2015, in the most fitting place: their preschool classroom.
And the two lovebirds tied the knot in December 2016.
"The whole car ride to the preschool she kept asking me why I seemed anxious," Grodsky told HuffPost. "I kept checking my pocket when she wasn’t looking to make sure the ring was still there. I dropped down on one knee while my brother came in with the phone, snapping photos. Laura was shocked. I gave her my pitch on why I wanted her to marry me and she said yes ― whew!"
Look at this smiley faces! So much love right there.
“Laura and I met in preschool. One of my very first memories is of being 3 years old and standing up in front of my pre-school class, declaring that I would marry her someday,” Grodsky wrote in the Instagram post.”
Again, this is real life…not a rom-com (though maybe it will be one day?).
He talks about how they were inseparable in school: she taught him how to “ride the swings,” “draw rolling hills,” “and the right way to properly eat string cheese.” He admits he was enamored with her then, and still is to this day. Okay, that is the most adorable thing we’ve ever heard.
Wishing all the best to this happy married couple as they move forward together in life.
Hugs all around.
