This guy just beat the Rubik’s Cube world record, and it’s almost too fast to see

Have you ever tried to beat a Rubik’s Cube? It’s one of the most challenging (and frustrating) puzzles out there. Many have attempted it, only to end up seriously stumped. But this is very much not the case for Patrick Ponce who just beat the Rubik’s Cube world record. You won’t believe how fast this guy solves the infamous puzzle or how easy he manages to make it look.

Patrick Ponce is just 15 years old, but he’s already got a world record under his belt.

The teenager managed to shave .04 seconds off the previous record for solving a 3X3 Rubik’s Cube, coming in at an astounding 4.69 seconds during a competition in Virginia. Ponce solved the whole Rubik’s Cube in just 17 moves (putting those of us who need several dozen just to get started seriously to shame).

His moves are truly amazing — you can barely keep track of how fast his hands go as he races to solve the famous puzzle. But Patrick Ponce is used to breaking records: The teenager has already placed 11th in the world for solving a 4X4 Rubik’s Cube and 10th in the world for solving a 5X5.

Check out the video showing off his moves, and prepare to be amazed.

We’ve never seen someone work so fast to solve this puzzle. Watching Patrick Ponce demolish the record might inspire you to go out and see how your own Rubik’s Cube skills stand — but don’t get discouraged if it takes you a lot longer than 4.69 seconds to make any headway.
